Many students start "knocking at the door" on scores in the range for preferred schools in the fall. Whether that is due to focus, practice, or both, students should know that schools will continue to lean into applications for which scores validate the good grades on their transcripts.
When do October, November, and December SAT scores release?
October 4, 2025 SAT - release date October 17
November 8, 2025 SAT - release date November 21
December 6, 2025 SAT - release date December 19
Can my student submit improved scores if they have already submitted their application?
Yes, schools will accept new scores up until the materials deadlines. Some schools require early action materials to be submitted by the application deadline, while others provide a grace period of a few days to two weeks.
If my student is already admitted but new scores improve, should we submit them?
Yes, new scores could improve eligibility for Honors College applications or academic merit scholarships.
What are the registration deadlines if my student wants to take the 2025 November or December SAT?
November 8, 2025 SAT - Registration Deadline - October 24, 2025

How long does it take the College Board to release scores once I send official scores from my College Board account?
Some schools require official scores from the student's College Board account, while others allow for self-reporting. Know the difference by applying early and researching your application list. If your school requires official scores, be sure to keep an eye on the deadlines. Scores can be submitted up to the material deadline, which can be later than the application deadline, but not always. Scores cost $15 to send, but rush scores are different.
Rush Scores - These cost an additional $30 to send rush, which takes 1-4 business days. The College Board sends rush scores on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Regular Score Sends - These do not incur an extra cost to send, but they take longer. The College Board sends regular scores on Wednesdays only, and scores typically take 5-10 business days to arrive.
