THE TEAM

The people your kid will actually listen to.

Our planners come from teaching, counseling, and the trenches of raising their own kids through this exact process. Behind them, a data and operations team does the legwork — so the planners’ time goes where it matters: your student.

COLLEGE PLANNERS

Betsy Greaney

Betsy Greaney

CPC DIRECTOR & COLLEGE PLANNER

Betsy leads CPC with a conviction most of the field hasn’t caught up to: that data and technology, used well, make college planning clearer and more empowering — not more impersonal. A University of Richmond grad with deep admissions-counseling experience, she’s spent years helping students reach goals they set for themselves. Based in Amelia Island, Florida, she lives the outdoor life with her husband, Kevin, and their three grown sons — and still finds time to sing with the Amelia Island Singers and volunteer with Take Stock in Children of Nassau County, Inc.

Tracey Kelly

Tracey Kelly

COLLEGE PLANNER

Tracey has spent more than two decades guiding families through education — across the U.S. and abroad in Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. That range gives her a rare read on what actually helps a student, whatever their background: she’s worked as a homeschool instructor, tutor, and program coordinator in top districts from Loudoun County, Virginia to Broward County, Florida. She’s known for striking the right balance of technology and personal touch — the thing that keeps students engaged and moving. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Tracey now calls Princeton, New Jersey home, with her husband, two daughters, and their pets.

Katie Hertelendy

Katie Hertelendy

COLLEGE PLANNER

Katie is a teacher at heart — 15 years in the first-grade classroom — who has guided her own three children through the college process and many students since. She gets it from both sides of the desk: how to draw out what makes a student genuinely interesting to a college, and how stressful the whole thing can feel at the kitchen table. She especially loves learning what high schoolers are building and creating, then helping them show it well. A Vanderbilt grad, Katie stays close to the school as an alumni liaison.

THE TEAM BEHIND THEM

Katie

Katie Murphy

ACCOUNTING, MARKETING & EVENTS DIRECTOR

Katie keeps the business side of CPC running — and she’s exactly the right person for it. With 25+ years in accounting, including managing the business office at Chesapeake College, she brings a real command of higher-ed finance and financial aid to families navigating the cost of college. A Saint Francis University accounting grad, she’s lived on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for nearly two decades, where she coaches high school girls’ basketball and is all-in on health and fitness.

Karen

Karen Broujos

COMMUNICATIONS COORIDINATOR

Karen has been through the college search with her own children, so she knows how much families value a steady, reassuring voice along the way. At CPC, she’s the one behind our monthly newsletter — keeping the community connected long after the applications are in.

The college process, finally manageable.
