Defense Civilian Training Corps - A new way to serve as a civilian and afford college

The Defense Civilian Training Corps is a congressionally-mandated talent development program that provides a multidisciplinary, active-learning curriculum with summer internship projects at DoD organizations.


Four universities are participating in the program. Most students apply during the second semester of sophomore year, and eligible majors include finance, engineering, sciences, business, and public policy.


  • Purdue University

  • Virginia Tech

  • University of Arizona

  • North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University


DCTC is a highly selective pilot program that provides a 100% tuition scholarship, $2,000 monthly stipend, and prepares scholars for a direct pathway into DoD acquisition-related careers.
