Nazareth College

I get the feeling that students are a priority at Nazareth College. 2,000 undergraduates.
Nazareth lies just outside the Rochester city limits. This tree lined, red brick college is known for its strong science programs and offers nursing. The campus is just on the edge of Pittsford, a small town that is both quaint and welcoming. The campus is situated in a park-like setting and while it was founded as a Catholic college, it has since been privatized, in fact the current president is of the Jewish faith. Beautiful stained glass windows adorn many buildings and they have plans to begin a new science complex in the near future. About 68% of the students are women and the college is hoping to become more diversified. D-3 sports include Equestrian and Lacrosse. You need to like the cold weather and the snow to truly enjoy Nazareth College, but it does help to know that they do have underground tunnels connecting the main buildings, so you may not even have to put on a jacket in the dead of winter in order to go to class. When visiting I did connect with a couple of students from the Delmarva area that attend Nazareth; they seemed to be doing well and the weather did not seem to be that detrimental. The top 3 majors seem to be: Health sciences, Psychology and Business. They also have a 5 year OT program and a 6 year PT program. They appear to be generous with their merit scholarships and financial aid.
