Centre is a small liberal arts college located in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. It’s in a rural setting about 30 miles from Lexington in the small town of Danville. The beautiful, traditional campus makes one feel at home immediately. Class size averages about 18 students with a lot of one on one time with professors. 97% of the faculty hold a Ph.D or other final degree. Centre offers 27 majors, including being able to design your own major. A Phi Beta Kappa Chapter is located on Centre’s campus. More than 80% of the students participate in Study Abroad Programs. Division 3 athletics include men’s and women’s lacrosse. About 50% of the students are members of Greek sororities and fraternities. The Centre Commitment is that students who meet the College’s academic and social expectations are guaranteed an internship, study abroad, and graduation within four years or Centre will provide up to a year of additional study free. A good student looking for a liberal arts college with strong academics, close interactions with professors, great study abroad programs in a rural setting would be right at home at Centre College.
