Susan is a former teacher , principal
and director of guidance at Saints Peter and Paul High School
in Easton, Md. Upon retirement she and Judith H. O'Dell founded
CPC in 2000 in answer to what both felt was a need for personal,
college guidance on the Eastern Shore. Susan is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the Higher Education Consultants Association.

Choosing
a college…
what is involved?
It is more than grades and SAT scores… a lot more. Why do
some students change colleges or leave never to return? It very
well may be that the college they chose, in some way, did not
fit them and what they needed.
Size, location, courses, programs, environment, activities, sports…
one size does not fit all. There are over 2,500 colleges and universities
in this country alone and over the years the process has become
more confusing and intimidating for both students and parents.
As experts in the college admission process, we are your student’s
personal counselor and college selection coach. Our process begins
with our getting to know the student as a person outside of the
classroom. We employ personality attitude and interest testing
to individualize each student’s search.
Parents understand their needs and
have the choice of selecting services. Coordinating college visits,
preparing the student for interviews, brainstorming for the all-important
essays, assembling applications to meet the varied deadlines,
and helping you understand college financial aid are all a part
of what we do. We are here as you need us; helping you through
every single step or being on-call for help and advice when you
need and want it.

Counseling
Barb has worked at CPC since 2002. As a mother of three she has
always been active in the local schools and taught pre-school
before coming to CPC. Barb is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association. She is also a member of the Independent Educational Counselors Association – IECA.
